Jazzy new WordPress 2.8 ‘Baker’ released
While some of us where quicker than others in upgrading to WordPress 2.7, it appears that a new candidate has been released. Wordpress 2.8, affectionately titled ‘Baker’ after a jazz singer I’ve never heard of, looks like it brings with it some great improvements.

I’m excited about the Syntax Highlighting, as well as how easy it looks to be able to add, remove and customise widgets in the sidebar. Drag and drop interfaces make it feel like FUN, when your actually doing WORK.
I’ll be upgrading soon, and you can bet I’ll post all about that too.

Syntax highlighting in the editor will be great and I can always do with more d&d support.
A question: How do you personally update Wordpress? Do you use the inbuilt update feature or did you download archive, upload, extract, replace?
I see what you did with the title there
Well, Tim.. the line in the article, ‘While some of us were quicker than others in upgrading to WordPress 2.7′… is actually a subtle little joke at myself. I hadn’t upgraded to 2.7, or indeed any version of wordpress.. as yet. hehe.
But I feel like I’d be a ‘download archive, upload, extract, replace’ kinda guy.
You? Any tips on upgrading Wordpress for the first time would be much appreciated.
