Well, Tim.. the line in the article, 'While some of us were quicker than others in upgrading to WordPress 2.7'... is actually a subtle little joke at myself. I hadn't upgraded to 2.7, or indeed any version of wordpress.. as yet. hehe.

But I feel like I'd be a 'download archive, upload, extract, replace' kinda guy.

You? Any tips on upgrading Wordpress for the first time would be much appreciated.

Syntax highlighting in the editor will be great and I can always do with more d&d support.

A question: How do you personally update Wordpress? Do you use the inbuilt update feature or did you download archive, upload, extract, replace?

I see what you did with the title there ;)

Thanks, Marty.

Good to hear from you. I was going for a design that was clean, and minimal. I think it works fairly well.

Keep me updated on your future projects, I'd like to have a look.

Lets not get caught up in the probably fake statistics, people..

"233,000 people just twittered on twitter.. 26% of you viewing this have no idea what that means.."

It's funny, but true. Tonight, I tried to explain twitter to a friend, and why I'm excited about it. I then had to spend time defending it from someone else. There's a lot of love and hate out there for it.

P.S. thanks to everyone who found this article via my tweet! In your face, nay sayers..

I think those statistic prove that the American government is indeed monitoring what everyone is doing. The whole Big Brother thing is a little scary.

That Sprint ad was good - ads here in Australia seem so much less creative. I don't actually believe those statistics, though.

Love that dog.

If you want some idea of what internet businesses are using Twitter for, here's a vendor offering Twitter business services:

I've learned WordPress through the following tutorial:

http://www.wpdesigner.com/2007/02/19/so-you-want-to-create-wordpress-themes-huh/

... and I am still learning. I love WordPress. It makes web design so much easier, especially when you are freelancing, since you have to do everything yourself. And yeah I've created my design from scratch. However I might not do so in the future. I think next time I will use an existing theme and modify it to match my design. This way I will hopefully spend even less time on web development.

I've checked out the vocle website. Pretty good! Do you know the guy personally?

Yeah, through my imagination, I guess.. I just like drawing stupid stuff in Illustrator. Thanks for my first comment. My Comments page needs some more work..

Did you design your own theme for wordpress? This was my first attempt. I followed the CSS-Tricks Screencasts, and fumbled my way through the rest. Any particular resources you used? There's a guy in Barwon Heads, http://www.vocle.com who uses wordpress heaps. Have you seen his site?
